A couple of corrections

CMU corrects two errors: the rescheduled REM concert is in Sheffield rather than Glasgow, and Tim Renner is the former head of Universal Music Germany.

As you know, we are the kings of accuracy here at CMU, we never make mistakes (anyone with vague recollections of a story about

AC/DC’s Angus Young must be thinking of another CMU). But, sometimes, the BBC make mistakes, they enter the grapevine, and eventually appear here too. Sorry.

We’re telling you this now because their were two slight errors in yesterday’s CMU which seem to have come from the BBC reports on those stories. First up, it is the Sheffield, and not the

Glasgow, REM concert that has been rescheduled for 15 Jun. As reported yesterday, REM’s Mike Mills was too ill to perform in Sheffield on Monday night. Fans enjoyed an exclusive acoustic set from the rest of the band, but will be able to get the full show with their tickets on 15 Jun. Last night’s Glasgow gig was also cancelled due to Mills’illness - the new date for that gig is tbc.

Second up, Universal would like to point out that Tim Renner, who was criticising the way the German music industry has responded to the download age on the BBC World Service’s Music Biz show last week, is the former (ie not the current) head of Universal

Music Germany. Sorted.
