After jailed rapper records video behind bars

Jefferson Parish Sheriff Harry Lee is angry after C-Murder, real name Corey Miller, made a music video inside jail using footage filmed for interviews, despite his pending retrial.

A New Orleans sherrif has expressed his anger after it was revealed rapper C-Murder was filmed while in jail for a new music video.

The rapper, real name Corey Miller, is currently awaiting a retrial on charges that he killed a 16 year old fan during a shooting at a nightclub. His original conviction for that murder was overturned after it was revealed the prosecution in the case failed to tell the court key witnesses had been given deals on their own criminal charges in order to testify.

It seems officials at the jail where Miller is incarcerated allowed cameras in to film the rapper, supposedly for interviews with

Court TV and a local cable station. However that footage has been used to create a video for a new Miller track that features on an album that was also recorded behind bars.

Having been told about the video Jefferson Parish Sheriff Harry Lee told reporters: "I'm not pleased. He will not make another video in my jail."

The rapper's lawyer Ron Rakosky defended his client for making a new album and video while in jail. He told reporters: "Here's a guy in jail, making constructive use of his time instead of withering away. He's lost more than three years of his life, locked up for a crime he did not commit."

But a local victims support group did not agree. Beverly Siemssen, president of Victims and Citizens Against Crime said: "He is a suspect in a murder case. I don't think he should be allowed these privileges, especially earning money, until his name is totally cleared".
