All charges against Remy Ma to go through court

A judge has ruled that charges against rapper Remy Ma, including alleged shooting and witness intimidation, will proceed, with forensic evidence due in January.

Grammy nominated rapper Remy Ma was back in court this week to face those previously reported allegations that she shot an acquaintance back in July in a dispute over money, and also those other previously reported allegations that she attempted to intimidate a witness in the original case against her.

The rapper's lawyer, Ivan Fisher, began by trying to convince the court that there was insufficient evidence against his client, real name Reminisce Smith, with regards the witness intimidation charges. She is accused of telling several male friends to beat up the boyfriend of a witness to the original shooting, presumably in a bid to stop the witness from testifying.

But the judge hearing the case ruled there were sufficient grounds for the court to hear both sets of allegations against the rapper, before adjourning the case until 3 Jan when forensic evidence will be presented in a bid to prove blood on clothing worn by Smith on the night of the original attack belonged to the victim, one Makeda Barnes-Joseph.
