Isle of Wight four-piece Coach Party â Jess Eastwood, Steph Norris, Joe Perry and Guy Page â grew up orbiting the same island music scene: working at venues, sharing bills and forming the kinds of friendships that eventually turned into bands. That DIY background still defines their sound - not lo-fi, but self-sufficient.
Their songs are recorded and produced in-house (drummer Guy Page handles production), and that approach gives the music a taut, unfussy quality - lean arrangements, clipped transitions and a real-time band dynamic that favours instinct over polish.
New single âDo Yourself A Favourâ marks a shift in tone: less bite, more blur. It drifts through a fog of shoegaze textures and slacker-paced drums, with Eastwoodâs vocal gliding across it in a low-stakes hush. Still, it carries weight - not from volume, but from the tension of knowing what needs to change and not quite getting there.
âItâs our sympathy for anyone who, like us, is all about putting off important decisionsâ, says Page. âProcrastination seems harmless at first, but then snowballs into anxiety and a lack of self-beliefâ.
The track will feature on the bandâs upcoming album âCaramelâ, out 26 Sep via Chess Club.
