Manchester’s Corella have spent the last few years touring relentlessly, stacking up singles, and building a following on the back of big guitar hooks and choruses that actually land. The kind of band you discover at a festival and immediately tell someone about.
New single ‘Rewire’, produced by Jason Perry (McFly, Don Broco, The Molotovs), is their heaviest move yet. Soaring riffs, pounding drums and a no-nonsense vocal performance from Joel Smith, make it a blistering listen.
Lyrically it’s about the current misinformation spiral, the way people absorb and repeat whatever’s put in front of them without question. “It feels as though they'll believe anything”, Smith says of the current UK climate. The frustration translates in the track.
Corella are getting louder and sharper, and ‘Rewire’ suggests they know exactly where they’re going.
