If youâve been paying any attention to UK music in the last year or two, youâve probably already encountered Fat Dog. If not: South London seven-piece, debut album âWOOFâ in 2024, raucous electro-punk-art-rock with a lot of energy and very few rules.
Their frontman got married in Vegas mid-tour, they had collective breakdowns in LA, and they played four shows in 27 hours at Glastonbury. Now theyâre back.
New single âShit Loveâ is stabbing synths, manic vocals and a beat that, as the band put it, sounds like a rollercoaster trying to shake itself off the tracks. Itâs about âtwo fucking insane people who argue constantly and they are world-enders every timeâ, says frontman Joe Love, which is a pretty good brief.
Itâs the third single from second album âCancel Me (Iâm Tired)â, out 2 Oct, a record that apparently pulls in addiction, AI, ancestry, Chris Tarrant, S&M, B&M, H&M and M&Ms. Big, then.
They headline Brixton Academy on 24 Oct.
