Brooklynâs Frankie Rose makes post-punk and 80s synth-pop, glacial sonic atmospherics that sit naturally alongside Cocteau Twins or early Cure. Sheâs been at it since 2009, drumming for Crystal Stilts, Dum Dum Girls and Vivian Girls along the way, and deserves more ears than sheâs got.
New single âManifestâ is at the darker end of her sound, an industrial 4/4 beat, post-punk goth energy, her voice cutting clean through the production. Big and brooding, but with the kind of melody that sticks.
