Approved: Frost Children

Frost Children channel a wide array of sounds, from big room DJs to early 2000s emo. Even if you can get your head around that, there’s still a long way to go before you can adequately describe their music. Best to just listen to it, starting with one of their standout tracks, ‘Flatline’

New Yorker siblings Angel and Lulu Prost - aka Frost Children - channel the larger-than-life sounds of big room DJs and emo icons from the early 2000s into their music. Their sound could be coined as indie-sleaze hyper-pop but pigeon-holing them would feel like a disservice.

Among their standout tracks is ‘Flatline’, a mesmerising blend of pulsating alien drums, haunting police sirens, and glitchy buzzes. Despite its deceptively gentle vocal delivery, ‘Flatline’ is a sonic rollercoaster with its intricate production, ethereal vocal layers, and hypnotic basslines.
