Welsh-born, London-based Greta Isaac pushes against the edges of genre, identity and pop polish. Now sheâs blown the whole thing open with âDolly Zoomâ, her upcoming EP (out 8 Aug via Kartel) and the introduction of a gloriously unhinged new persona.
Enter Dolly: a chaotic muse - screamy, seductive, disobedient and arguably pretty art pop.
The first glimpse comes via new single âSoft Scoop Talking Dogâ - a title as strange and sweet as the track itself. All candy-coated synths, rubbery guitars and sugary defiance. Think Gwen Stefani meets Caroline Polachek after a week of no sleep and too much poppers.
Thereâs a visualiser too - featuring lyrics in Welsh, grounding all the glitter in Isaacâs roots. Speaking about the track, Isaac says itâs about âbeing trapped in a room of what we should be, until Dolly kicks the door downâ. Sheâs the chaos. The clarity. The talking dog in your brain saying: It doesnât have to be this way.
