In Kibo’s world, nothing is off limits. From Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink to Justin Timberlake, Jet Set Radio to Jujutsu Kaisen, everything feeds into his one-of-a-kind sonic mythology.

His 2022 debut mixtape ‘FBFR: Fuego Baby Furtado Returnz (Sorry 4 Da Longness!)’ and follow-up single ‘Victory Lap’ introduced a maximalist narrative style built on rapid-fire delivery, absurdist humour and a distinctly London way of turning everyday life into legend - what he calls “Kwengletarianism”.

New single ‘Chancer’ leans into that playful self-myth. Built on a skippy R&G-leaning beat, it traces the story of a kid pushing his luck and taking chances when they show up.

The video, directed by J-LA Davis, taps straight into early YouTube era road rap energy: camcorder haze and cartoonish flashes like the mafia-boss Bugs Bunny or a Pink “Pimp” Panther of the 90s drifting through the frame.

It’s nostalgic without feeling stuck there, and another reminder that Kibo’s best trick is making his own lore feel simultanously serious, ridiculous and most importantly, real.
