Linn has just released her second EP ‘Femte Dimension’ – the follow-up to 2020’s ‘Happy Metal’ – collecting three singles she released over the last nine months and two new tracks. Varying in style, each track has a quiet, late night quality to it, which makes sense as they were apparently all written with a newborn sitting on her lap.
As well as quiet, acoustic guitar-based tracks like opener ‘Play Date’ and previous single ‘Okay, Sister’, there’s ‘Happiness Is Real’, which veers between that and noise rock, and the shimmering title track.
The most recent single from the EP is ‘Worth It’, a slow, indie-rock track which slowly becomes more discordant, as her vocal lines fall out of sync with each other, creating a disorientating and intoxicating mood around the melodic song sitting at its centre.
