Saul Kane and Louis Bullock formed L'Objectif when they were 12, in a school music classroom in Leeds. Now a four-piece with two new members since 2024, they've hit their sweet spot. They make high adrenaline post-punk with New Order-recalling propulsions, Kane's vocals dancing somewhere between Morrissey and Jarvis Cocker.
New single 'Walking Home (From The City)' is their first music of 2026. A hearty and cathartic coming-of-age journey ever-present throughout the under belly of the tune. Pulling from The 1975 and previous touring partners Geese, it’s big and propulsive and full of the kind of energy that makes you want to see it live. Lyrically it's about nostalgia for the years between 16 and 20, the moment those memories start to feel more precious than you expected.
“I think this song has helped me process a lot of things that happened in that period, although I think it was important not to create a solemn musical landscape for the lyrics, as I wanted to demonstrate the elements of energy, life and happiness that those memories will always bring me.”, Kane explains.
