Sassy 009 is the ever-mutable project of Oslo-based producer, songwriter and vocalist Sunniva Lindgård. First emerging as a trio on 2017’s ‘Do You Mind’ EP, the project became Lindgård’s solo vehicle in 2019, evolving into the sultry, bass-driven ‘Heart Ego’ mixtape of 2021.
Across all incarnations, Sassy 009 thrives in the in-between: a space where distorted vocals, grunge textures, shoegaze swells, 90s beatronica and gauzy hyperpop collide.
On new single ‘Mirrors’, Lindgård links with Malaysian-Irish producer and singer yunè pinku for a reflective, downtempo shimmer.
Pinku’s clear, airy vocals cut through Lindgård’s familiar haze as the song charts a recurring dreamscape: “you can't tell where the way out is - you just see different angles of yourself’.
The single previews Lindgård’s debut album, ‘Dreamer+’, out 16 Jan.
