Strandz, the rising talent from South London, embraces nostalgia without imitation. While his sound is reminiscent of the best of the 1990s and early 2000s East Coast hip hop and R&B, he’s made an undeniably fresh stamp on it with experimental productions and vulnerable lyricism delivered with crystal clear flow.

Starting with a studio gig in Croydon at the age of fourteen, progressing to a memorable moment at last summer's Glastonbury, where Digga D invited him on stage, and now receiving a nomination in the MOBO Awards' Best Newcomer category – each step in his journey mirrors not only his unwavering commitment but also the exciting uniqueness of his sound.

Closing 2023 on a high, 'An Idea Was Born,' featuring Tendai, symbolises his year with a visual recap of unseen highlights. With clever and confident lyrics, the track navigates Strandz's journey to success.

Strandz elaborates on 'An Idea Was Born', saying it is “a reflection on some of the craziest moments of my come up alongside a look into some of my future aspirations, it’s a message from me to my supporters to show my appreciation and how far we are going to take it”.
