Australiaās The Belair Lip Bombs - Maisie Everett, Mike Bradvica, Jimmy Droughton and Daniel āDevā Devlin - first came together in Melbourne suburb Frankston at DIY venue Singing Bird Studio. Eight years on, theyāve honed a toe-tapping indie rock that sparks goosebumps, the kind that could fill a stadium.
Their self-coined āyearn-coreā mixes quick-footed rhythms, warm, fuzzy guitars, and Maisieās cathartic vocals into songs that feel both carefully crafted and effortlessly alive. Itās jangly, euphoric and somehow breezy without ever feeling lightweight.
New single āHey Youā, taken from upcoming album āAgainā, spins a looping synth into a jubilant, almost 80s melody. āHaving a synth loop driving a whole song is something that weāve never done beforeā, Maisie says.
Dev adds, āWe leaned into that and pushed to make the song bigger than anything else on the albumā. Itās a track that shows the band stretching their sound without losing the scrappy charm that first made them.
After a string of US dates, theyāre heading to Europe in November, including their biggest UK headline show yet at Londonās Scala on 28 Nov.
