CMU Approved
Approved: Berger
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 17 February 2016
After a few years mostly keeping a low profile, Margaret Berger returns with a new single and a stripped back name – call her Margaret no more, she’s just Berger to you now. ‘Apologize’ is the first in a series of self-released singles planned for the coming months.
Berger’s last big appearance was as the performer of Norway’s 2013 Eurovision entry, at which she came a respectable but still annoyingly low fourth (she was robbed!).
‘Apologize’ isn’t as musically aggressive as the song she competed with there – ‘I Feed You My Love’ – but vocally she maintains a firm emotional clarity, projecting strong feelings with a light touch.
