Wargirl are set to release their second studio album ‘Dancing Gold’ – the follow-up to last year’s eponymous debut – next week through Clouds Hill. It features ten tracks worth of diverse, upbeat music that, says guitarist Matt Wignall, “feels like it comes from a spirit of friendship and truth and love”.
“All the members of this band are exceptional musicians”, he goes on. “We all found each other because we were probably meant to. We want to make great, unique, interesting music with messages that are universal and true, encouraging the listener to take a deeper look at this life, to ask questions about what we all accept as normal”.
Songs like the title track and totally infectious single ‘Hang On’ set the pace for the sharply produced record. And latest single, the short-and-sweet ‘2069’, is a welcome addition to the songs-with-whistling-in canon too.
