Frank Ocean’s art should not be rushed, says Malay

If you were wondering where the flipping heck Frank Ocean’s new album is, producer Malay has an answer for you.
In a Reddit AMA earlier this week, he told fans: “First of all we all massively appreciate and love you guys. Frank has told me this himself many times. To be fair though, art cannot be rushed. It’s about making sure the perfect aesthetic for the situation has been reached, to do that, takes constant tweaking, trial and error. That goes for any creative situation”.
Art can be rushed though, so he’s wrong about that. Sometimes it even should be rushed. Though Frank Ocean is a pretty long fucking way from rushed right now, isn’t he? I mean, ‘Boys Don’t Cry’ isn’t ‘The Chinese Democracy’ yet, but he’s not exactly knocking out the hits either.
Anyway, there was a more important question answered in the same AMA, that of what Frank Ocean smells like. “If God was a woman and [farted flowers]”, Malay revealed, finally putting that whole thing to bed.
