Morrissey cancels Iceland show over meat removal refusal
By Andy Malt | Published on Wednesday 4 February 2015
Quick quiz! Morrissey cancelled an upcoming show in Iceland because:
a) He is ill
b) Someone else is ill
c) The venue refused to stop serving meat
d) Something about the Royal Family
If you answered c), well done! You have won this week’s special prize: Two tickets to see Morrissey play at the Harpa Concert Hall in Reykjavik. Congratulations! Hope you have a great time.
Morrissey announced the show via his True To You fansite earlier this week. Although, unfortunately for you, he announced at the same time that he was cancelling it.
That was what the whole quiz above was about. Reykjavik is in Iceland, see? I would have thought you of all people would have known that. If not, I’m not sure you really deserved that prize in the first place. I’m glad I’ve had to take it away again.
There is no alternative prize, by the way. And it may not be swapped for cash. Blame Morrissey. Or animals. Or the venue. Not me though.
Probably the venue, because the Mozzertron said this about the whole thing: “I love Iceland and I have waited a long time to return, but I shall leave the Harpa Concert Hall to their cannibalistic flesh-eating bloodlust”.
Apparently there is no other venue in Iceland capable of housing Morrissey, meat-ridden or otherwise.
