Music Sales Group buys Éditions Alphonse Leduc
By Andy Malt | Published on Monday 20 January 2014
Independent music publisher Music Sales Group has announced that it has purchased Parisian company Éditions Alphonse Leduc. The family-owned firm, founded in 1842, has in the past owned works by the likes of Brahms, Dvořák, and Tchaikovsky. Its current catalogue includes Olivier Messiaen, Francis Poulenc, Jacques Ibert and Henri Dutilleux.
Announcing the deal, Music Sales CEO Robert Wise said: “It is a source of great satisfaction for us to acquire such a prestigious and long-established publishing house as Éditions Alphonse Leduc. Its catalogue very well complements those we already own and, as the MD of an independent family company myself, I am particularly pleased to add what has been such a well-respected French family concern to our range of publishing houses”.
