PledgeMusic puts new look platform live

An all-new PledgeMusic website went live last night, an overhaul that sees the company – originally positioned as a fan-funding service – complete its transition to become a ‘direct-to-fan’ platform with specialisms in pre-order sales, limited-edition products and experiences, and the better engagement of fans between pre-order and product delivery.

In some ways that transition is as much semantic as anything else – after all, once the equity or profit-share element of ‘crowd-sourcing’ in music fell away (which happened before Pledge even launched), the distinction between fan-funding and pre-order direct-to-fan was mainly about positioning. Though the new look PledgeMusic comes with new functionality responding to the way artists, managers and labels have actually used the platform in recent years.

Announcing the revamped site, the Pledge team say: “The new platform is optimised to offer fans a front row seat to the process of making and releasing music and not just the selling of it, offering exclusive items such as signed memorabilia and higher tiered, once-in-lifetime experiences such as private concerts and VIP tickets to album release parties”.

Meanwhile PledgeMusic founder and President Benji Rogers told CMU: “We are so proud of both the PledgeMusic team and the PledgeMusic community of artists, fans and charities. This marks an important turning point for our platform and for our company. Ultimately we feel that we have created a significant marketing channel for the artists that we work with and our entire team remains dedicated to creating more reasons for fans to participate in what we see as a thriving music ecosystem with a bright future ahead”.
