Australian manager Glenn Wheatley released from jail early

Australian artist manager Glenn Wheatley has been released early from jail, ten months into a two-year sentence for tax avoidance, with 24 conditions including an electronic tag.

More from the pop courts, and Australian artist manager Glenn Wheatley, best known for managing John Farnham and Delta Goodrem, has been released from jail ten months into a two year sentence in relation to previously reported tax avoidance offences. He has been released early subject to 24 conditions, the key one of which is that he must wear one of those electronic tag devices that will generally keep him housebound until the sentence is up. He must also not speak to or contact the media, which might be tricky given the degree of interest in the case amongst Australian media - according to Undercover there were news cameras a plenty in place as he left Beechworth Prison this morning. As previously reported, Wheatley fell victim to a crack down on so called white collar crime in Australia, though few expected him to get two years in jail after he pleaded guilty and cooperated with tax inspectors.
