Babyshambles release date set

Rough Trade has set a release date of 14 November for Babyshambles' debut album Down In Albion, produced by Mick Jones, with a single following two weeks later.

Well, it's not often we actually get proper music news involving our good friend Pete Doherty, so to celebrate we've given this story top billing. Yep, Rough Trade Records have taken the bold step of naming a release date for Babyshambles' long awaiting debut album. 'Down In Albion' will be released on 14 Nov, with single 'Albion' due for release two weeks later. Produced, of course, by Mick Jones, the album is a sixteen track affair including recent single 'Fuck Forever' and a new recording of the band's first single 'Killamangiro'. Doherty, meanwhile, will appear on a new single from the Littl'ans, also released by Rough Trade, on 17 Oct.

So, as Franz Ferdinand's Alex Kapronos was saying just the other day, Pete isn't just there as a tabloid-filling curiosity - "Pete Doherty is a brilliant songwriter. 'Fuck Forever' is a real anthem. I was really impressed with him when I saw him in Paris."
