Bacharach protests with Dre

Burt Bacharach releases a protest album on 24 October, with Dr Dre drum loops on three tracks and contributions from Elvis Costello and Rufus Wainwright, critical of President Bush.

Burt Bacharach is to release a new album of protest songs, which boasts drum loops on three tracks from Dr Dre as well as contributions from Elvis Costello and Rufus Wainwright. The LP is due out on 24 Oct and includes tracks which are highly critical of President Bush.

A friend of Bacharach said: "Burt's pissed at the administration, concerned about the world he is leaving to his children, and you can feel it." Bacharach himself said: "People ask why a man who has been known for writing love songs all of his life is suddenly rocking the boat. I had to do it. This is very personal to me, and this is the most passionate album I have ever made."
