BBC Trust approve move north

The BBC Trust has approved plans to move five divisions, including Radio Five Live, to a new media centre in Salford by 2011, with Peer Holdings developing the site.

The BBC's much reported plans to move big chunks of their operations from London to a new media centre in Salford, Manchester have been given the approval of the Corporation's governing body, the BBC Trust. The approval means five BBC divisions, including Future Media & Technology and Radio Five Live, will move North in 2011. The Beeb has also agreed terms with the company who will develop its new Manchester HQ - Peer Holdings - who will start work on the construction of what will be known by the trendy name of mediacity:uk in September. Let's hope all lower case and colons for spaces is still trendy in 2011.
