Bloc Party aim for accessibility on second album

Bloc Party say their second album, 'A Weekend In The City', is more accessible, with Kele Okereke aiming for easier understanding without dumbing down.

Bloc Party say their second album will be more like Coldplay - though by that I think they mean it will be more accessible, and not that it will be dull, uninspiring and bland. I hope that's what they mean.

Speaking to Billboard about 'A Weekend In The City', out next month, the band's Kele Okereke said: "I wanted to make something that could be more easily understood, without dumbing it down", while bassist Gordon Noakes added: "It's got everything that makes a Coldplay song, plus more. It has a lush sound without being too syrupy".
