Bloc Party say album number two will have a new sound

Bloc Party say their second album, produced by Jacknife Lee, will be darker, bigger and more abrasive than 'Silent Alarm', according to Kele Okereke.

Bloc Party have said that album number two is going to be radically different than their much critically acclaimed debut 'Silent Alarm'. Having worked with top producer fella Jacknife Lee, the band's Kele Okereke has said the new material is "dark, bigger and quite abrasive".

Speaking to the NME.com people, who have apparently heard four of the songs, Okereke said: "It's not noisy, but it's quite dense. I think it's going to require people to make an effort with it. There's a lot of interplay and a lot of detail. There are some slower moments too. I was aware that we didn't have very many songs that were laid back. Everything was frenetic and that's fine, but we wouldn't be doing ourselves any justice as musicians if we just ploughed the same furrow."
