Blunt heading back into the studio

James Blunt is reportedly heading into an LA studio to record a follow-up to Back To Bedlam, with a 1970s-influenced sound and a possible release this year.

Of course what you're all really saying to us this morning is "tell us CMU, what news on that very fine and not at all irritating songman Mr James Blunt?" Well, we hear the Blunt boy is due to go into a studio in LA anytime soon to start work on the follow up to his 'Back To Bedlam' debut, with plans to release the new long player before the year is out (which will be good news to Warner Music - should Linkin Park not do their bit to balance the books with their upcoming long player). The plan seems to be not to go back to 'Back To Bedlam', but rather to make an album with "a bit of grit and edge" and, apparently, with a "good '70s feel to it". Make of that what you will. But don't be falling off the edge of your seats in anticipation of Blunt II's arrival in record shops now, will you?
