A new poll of 10,000 music fans have voted 'Bohemian Rhapsody' the best pop song ever. In second, third and fourth place were The Village People's 'YMCA', Bryan Adams's '(Everything I Do) I Do It For You' and Robbie Williams's 'Angels', so you can see what sort of really stiff competition the Queen track was up against. A spokesman for One Poll, who did the, er, poll, says, "We got a worthy winner".
Elsewhere in random poll news, Radio 2 listeners have named Michael Jackson's 'Billie Jean' the greatest dance record ever. A shortlist of 20 tracks was drawn up by panel that included DJs Trevor Nelson and Danny Rampling before the public were allowed to vote on it.
The results of the poll were presented in a three part series presented on the radio station by Zoe Ball, who says this: "I'm delighted that Billie Jean has been voted the greatest dance record ever made. This is Jackson at his best. This track is way up there for me - Jacko's rendition of it at the Motown 25th anniversary show has got to be one of the great live performances of all time. The bass line is awesome, the production is killer. It's just perfect."
