Brian May launches book on the origins of the universe

Brian May has launched a book on the origins and future of the universe, co-written by Sky At Night presenters Patrick Moore and Chris Lintott.

Brian May has just launched a book about the origins of the universe. Yep, the origins of the universe. Remember, May abandoned doctoral studies in astronomy to embark on his career with Queen. The book has been co-written by The Sky At Night presenters Patrick Moore and Chris Lintott and explains the formation of the universe 13 billion years (you know, when God said 'let there be light'), through to today and looking forward to the future and the universe's ultimate demise in several billion years time.

Asked by the Guardian how his loves for astronomy and music relate, May recently said: "I think there's a sort of purity about both of them. Because you can immerse yourself in thoughts of the universe, or in music, and you're really abstracted. You're a million miles away from all your worries and personal problems and the dust and smoke of where you are."
