Britney Spears hits out at tabloids over pregnancy rumours

Britney Spears has posted a website message attacking tabloid magazines over pregnancy and marriage rumours, questioning the honesty of their staff.

Apparently sick and tired of reports of her being pregnant,

Britney has written a posting on her website entitled 'Dear

False Tabloids'. Rumours have been rife in the past couple of weeks that the pop star is with child and that her recent marriage to Kevin Federline is already on the rocks.

Spears didn't address those issues but directed comments at the tabloid press, questioning the quality of their staff. "Your employees are a reflection of your magazine," she wrote on Wednesday,

"Do you, Us Weekly, In Touch, Star and other desperate magazines want employees who are honest, or those who are liars?"

She went on to say "I'm really concerned about the people you hire to work at your companies. I'd like them to ask themselves the question, `What am I lying to myself about?' Is it that you are 50 pounds overweight? Is it that your children aren't making wise decisions? Or is it maybe that your husband or boyfriend is cheating on you?" Just what being overweight or having a cheating boyfriend has to do with tabloid coverage isn't really that clear. What is clear is that she can certainly expect to see just as much tabloid speculation as ever over her private life following the outburst. Doh.
