C-Murder changes name to C Miller

Jailed rapper C-Murder, real name Corey Miller, is changing his professional name to C Miller, saying he feels misunderstood, while his appeals against a life sentence continue.

Jailed hip-hop star C-Murder is changing his name. As previously reported, the rapper was convicted in 2003 of killing sixteen year old fan Steve Miller at a New Orleans nightclub in 2002, and is currently engaged in a series of appeals against his life sentence.

The rapper, whose real name is Corey Miller said that he is to use C Miller as his professional name from now on, because he feels that he's been misunderstood. "I am not a murderer", he said in a statement yesterday suggesting that people had misinterpreted his stage name, saying "People hear the name C-Murder and they don't realize that the name simply means that I have seen many murders in my native Calliope projects neighbourhood."
