Capital plan rock show

Capital Radio will launch a rock show on its London station and an album chart on Capital Gold, as programme controller Ric Blaxill seeks more variety.

Capital Radio have announced they will be launching a rock show on their main London station, and an album chart on the Capital Gold channel, as part of programme controller Ric Blaxill’s bid to play a greater variety of music as other stations become more specialist. Although Xfm presenter Ian Camfield already presents a rock show for the group’s alternative station it is unlikely the presenter for the new show will come from within the company. Blaxill told the Media Guardian: "I will definitely bring in someone new, someone with the right approach, knowledge and gravitas who lives, eats and breathes the music”.
