Carling Academy opens with Futureheads

The new Carling Academy in Newcastle opened on Saturday with performances by three North-East bands, The Futureheads, Field Music and Kubichek. Futureheads guitarist Ross Millard said recently: "This is what Newcastle has been crying out for, for years. It's amazing we've been asked to open the new Academy. It's always fantastic playing to a home crowd, and with Kubichek and Field Music, it's a real North East homecoming."
