We were discussing at CMU HQ the other day how in classical music you more often than not describe what you're listening to by who wrote it rather than who performed it - I can't help thinking it might be fun if we all did that with pop music on occasion. If we did that pop songwriting extraordinaire Cathy Dennis would get a fair few mentions, of course, though she will be back in the limelight soon anyway because she's told Music Week that she plans to release her own album and return to live performance next year. She told Music Week: "I had an idea of starting a project for me to record a few new songs where I sing. Now it is turning into something more than that, as I have an album's worth of material to record and take on tour".
