Hip hop type Chaka Zulu has released a statement ruing an incident earlier in the week in which he became engaged in an altercation with rapper TI. The incident, which took place at a private charity lunch in Hollywood hosted by Warner exec Kevin Liles, started as a verbal disagreement but escalated to the point where TI allegedly punched Chaka Zulu. Zulu says: "It's a shame that things like this continue to happen especially with the backdrop of an event that was about benevolence and charitable works. I'm thankful that all issues have been resolved".
The pair have a back history of squabbling and have dissed each other in their lyrics in the past. Tension between the two recently flared up again after TI said that his album 'King' should have won the 2006 Grammy for Rap Album Of The Year, not Ludacris' 'Release Therapy'. And just in case you weren't aware of it, Zulu is Ludacris' manager, and they together formed Def Jam imprint Disturbin Tha Peace, which explains why Zulu took exception to TI's opinion on the matter.
