Well, two stories doing the rounds about Charlotte Church, one with a positive spin on it, one a bit more negative, but seemingly spawned by the same statement from the singer's publicist. First off, reports suggest that Church has been dropped by her label SonyBMG, because of allegedly disappointing sales of her pop album 'Tissues and Issues', which reached number five in the charts and spawned number one single 'Crazy Chick'. Her publicist, however, claims that the decision was mutual, saying: "The five album deal came to an end and both Sony BMG and Charlotte decided not to renew it. It was a mutual decision. Charlotte is not in a rush to consider any new long-term recording deals because the record company industry is in a state of flux."
Other reports are talking about the fact that Church claims to want to concentrate right now on her presenting work, after Channel 4 commissioned two new series of her Friday night show. On that, the statement continued: "For the moment TV presenting suits her lifestyle as there is less travelling involved. The show will take months to film and then taking into account having a break it will be 18 months before she returns to the idea of a recording contract. When she does, it could be she is interested in the sort of album you work on yourself and put out over the internet".
