Despite predictions that Will Young would go in at number one this week, what with his continuing popularity and the fact his new single ‘Don't Let Me Down’ and ‘You And I’ is raising money for Children in Need, the pop idol had to make do with number two, with Christina Aguilera’s ‘Dirrty’ staying at number one for a second week.
Quite a good singles chart this week if you ignore the top ten (new entries for Jennifer Lopez, S Club and Mariah Carey there) with Sum 41’s ‘Still Waiting’ in at 16, Paul weller’s ‘Leafy Mysteries’ in at 23, The Music’s ‘Getaway’ in at 26, Snoop Dog’s ‘From Tha Chuuch To Da place’ at 27, Suede’s ‘Obsession’ at 29 and Royksopp’s ‘Poor Leno’ at 38.
Albums wise no so hot – there’s some good albums in there of, course, but new entries wise there’s nothing to get excited about (yep Christmas is nearly here). Robbie’s ‘Escapology’ went in at number one as expected, and Jool Holland’s ‘More Friends’ is a welcome new entry at 17. And that’s it – unless you want to hear Marti Pellow singing Wet Wet Wet classics, in at 36.
