With the Chemical Brothers' excellent new album 'Push The Button' out today, the UK's bootleg remix community have launched a very special tribute - a completely unofficial remix album, available online. From the same people who produced the completely unofficial remix of the Prodigy's new album last year, the new project is called 'Flick The Switch' and is available to download
(in return for a donation to the post-tsunami relief effort)
from http://www.chemicalbrothersremixed.com.
No word on what the Chems themselves think about the project (their label EMI were, after all, so positive about DJ Danger Mouse's
'Grey Album'), though the people behind 'Flick The Switch' point out that Chemical Brother Ed Simons himself recently said: "We used to make cut-ups or DJ mixes for ourselves to play. Bootleg culture isn't a new thing. It's something people do - take snatches from other people's records and make a DJ mix."
The tracklisting of the unofficial remix album is as follows:
1. Galvanise (cry.on.my.console's galvatron remix feat. Katie
Enlow)
2. The Boxer (Fujikato's Unusual remix)
3. Belive (Belief, Elektric Cowboy)
4. Hold Tight London (Dunproofin's Follow Me mix feat. Katie
Enlow)
5. Come Inside (FakeID's Elektrophunk dub)
6. The Big Jump (Backflip, Will Rokier)
7. Left Right (JoolsMF Shoot'em Up mix)
8. Close Your Eyes (Idiotech remix)
9. Shake Break Bouce (McSleazy remix)
10. Marvo Ging (Big Bad Baz)
