Chrysalis revamp Echo

The Chrysalis Group plans to reposition its Echo label as an incubator for its music publishing business, Chrysalis Music, recruiting mainly from its publishing roster.

The Chrysalis Group have said they are planning on repositioning their independent record company Echo as an "incubator label" for the Group's music publishing business, Chrysalis Music. The move will mean that Echo will generally (though not exclusively) recruit artists from Chrysalis' publishing roster - presumably helping new signings to develop and release their early recorded work. The move is part of Chrysalis' seeming desire to become a more public facing company - the publishing sector traditionally being quite anonymous in the whole scheme of things. No word on what the move will mean, if anything, for its current roster of recording artists, which includes Feeder, Morcheeba, Engineers and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
