Clarkson changes management

Kelly Clarkson has parted company with her management firm The Firm, two weeks before her new album My December is released.

Former American Idol Kelly Clarkson has parted company with her management company just two weeks ahead of the release of her new album 'My December'.

Clarkson was managed by Jeff Kwatinetz of LA based The Firm. They issued a statement yesterday that said: "Kelly Clarkson is an enormously talented artist. We are pleased to have served as her managers during her well-deserved rise to stardom and are proud of the role we played in backing her creative choices. We believed in Kelly from the day we met her and believe in her now. We have only the best wishes and hopes for her in the future".

Clarkson had been with The Firm since she dumped the management services of Simon Fuller, who signed her up as part of the American Idol win. Although the latest split seems to have been amicable, it follows reports of disagreements between Clarkson and Kwatinetz regarding the artistic direction of the new album. There is no word as yet on who Clarkson intends to hire to manage her affairs moving forward.
