Cocker's album plans stopped by Rowling

According to Contactmusic, Joanne Rowling has blocked a Jarvis Cocker album of songs from the Harry Potter film, fearing it would confuse children.

She's a bit of a killjoy that Joanne Rowling, isn't she? It must be all that money making her miserable. Now, according to reports, she's stopped Jarvis Cocker from releasing an album featuring music he wrote and which he and Radiohead kids Phil Selway and Johnny Greenwood performed when they appeared in the most recent Harry Potter film as fictional band 'The Wyrd Sisters'.

Contactmusic quote an insider as saying: "Jarvis was really disappointed as he thought the songs were very good and wanted to release an album. He was upset as JK put her foot down and wouldn't allow it. She thought a group releasing CDs separately would confuse children."

Oh, alright, she's not a killjoy, Potterfans. But Phillip Pullman's better. So there.
