Coldcut have been approached to remix the Dr Who theme for the shows 40th anniversary.

The cut n paste pioneers and Ninja Tune Records founders say they are excited by their having mitts on the multitrack of the original theme with all the parts, and are looking forward to getting in there and featuring their new custom analog synth put together in Russia, the Parpatron 9000.

This was funded by the recent sale to Prichard James of one of Matt Black's (1/2 of Coldcut with Jon More) three Korg Pss3300 polysynths for a tidy sum.

The duo's seminal mix album for JDJ, '70 Minute of Madness' featured a double bass-driven cut up of the theme in the mix. What can we expect from them now?
