According to the quick search of the Daily archive I just did, we haven't mentioned Comanechi here since 2005. That, dear readers, is something I intend to correct forthwith, because Comanechi are a band who should be mentioned often. A series of 7" singles over the last few years have brought the duo a cult following, attracted by the over-excited mixture of cuteness and aggression in the delivery of singer and drummer Akiki Matsuura (who also fronts the fantastic Pre) and the sludgy, low-slung riffs of guitarist Simon Petrovitch. Whether live or on record, they sound like they might burst. Right now, they are apparently working on their debut album, but for now, content yourself with the tracks on their MySpace page, including a free download of the brilliant 'Death Of You'.
