Common added to Rise London United festival line-up

US rapper Common has joined the free Rise:London United anti-racism festival in Finsbury Park on 8 July, alongside Graham Coxon, Buzzcocks and Roy Ayers.

US rapper Common has been added to the line up for the anti-racism Rise:London United festival, which takes place in London's Finsbury Park this weekend. Have we mentioned that already? I can't remember. Ah well, he joins a rather good line up at the free event - including Graham Coxon, Buzzcocks, The Wailers, Sway, The Duke Spirit and the legend that is Roy Ayers. It all takes place this Saturday, 8 Jul. So don't go saying we didn't tell you.

On the event that mayor bloke Ken told reporters: "London is built on the diversity of its population and this anti-racist festival, which is going from strength to strength, sends a very clear message that at every level racism is not welcome in this city. This is the broadest line-up that we've assembled for the festival to date, reflecting the commitment that there will be no let-up in celebrating London's real character as a diverse and open city".
