Rumour has it that informal talks between the Writers Guild Of America and the Alliance Of Motion Picture And Television Producers have been going quite well, and that some kind of deal may be in the offing to end the previously reported writers' strike which caused the cancellation of the Golden Globes awards show last month, and which nearly de-railed this month's Grammys.
As previously reported, a separate deal between the WGA and the Grammys producers has already ensured the music industry's big night out will go ahead, though speculation continues as to whether the ongoing industrial action could cause problems at the Oscars, also due to take place this month.
However, with US TV ratings reportedly in freefall as the networks run out of new editions of their hit dramas, word has it a deal could be reached this week regarding the WGA's grievances with regards the royalties being paid to writers for the online distribution of TV shows.
