Craig David, Mick Jagger and Chris Martin in tabloid bits

Craig David may sing at the White House, Mick Jagger defends TV pop shows, and Chris Martin says he is getting to know Gwyneth Paltrow, all in The Sun.

Craig David has been invited to sing for ‘disadvantaged children’ at the White House, but he may not be able to fit the gig into his hectic schedule. A spokesperson for David told The Sun: "He is desperate to do it. The show is for a good cause and it proves how big he is becoming in America. We've just to see if we can reschedule some dates for him to get out to Washington for the gig."

After Robbie slated the Pop Idol shows last week – accusing them of being "cruel" and "messing with people's lives", Mick Jagger has revealed he enjoys the shows which he thinks are just good "fun". "I know some people say they are to blame for wrecking the pop charts but I don't think they are.” Jagger told The Sun. "Pop stardom is by definition a short-term thing. The public expects pop acts to come and go. That's why it's called pop".

And finally Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has admitted he has been dating Gwyneth Paltrow – though he stresses they are not an item yet! "I'm proud to be with someone who's very nice and very beautiful but she's not my girlfriend at the moment," he told The Sun. "I feel out of my depth with all this. I met her for the first time at our gig at Wembley two weeks ago. It's early days. I got her number, rang her and asked if she wanted to meet. We went out at the weekend and we seem to get on. We met up as friends and nothing has happened. We had a good time though. I don't know when we're going out again. I feel uncomfortable talking about her. We're just becoming friends."
