Daltrey agrees with Geldof on Live Earth, kind of

Roger Daltrey has criticised the Live Earth events in line with Bob Geldof, although he is not convinced Live 8 achieved anything, saying it produced platitudes and no action.

Roger Daltrey has attacked plans for the upcoming Live Earth events, just like Bob Geldof did. You'll remember what Bob said, because we reported on it. He said: "Why is Gore actually organising them? To make us aware of the greenhouse effect? Everybody's known about that problem for years. We are all fucking conscious of global warming".

The Who man agrees with that. This is what he thinks we should do: "My answer is to burn all the fucking oil as quick as possible and then the politicians will have to find a solution". Sounds feasible.

Anyway, Geldof needn't think he's got an ally in Daltrey, however, as he's not convinced Live 8 was necessary, either. "What did we really achieve at Live 8?" he says "We got loads of platitudes and no action. Who were we kidding there?"
