David Lee Roth reportedly lined up to replace Howard Stern on radio

Former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth is reportedly being lined up to host the breakfast show on Infinity stations currently carrying Howard Stern, after Stern moves to Sirius.

Chaunce Hayden, publisher of Steppin' Out Magazine and a regular guest on Howard Stern's US radio show, has said that former Van Halen front man David Lee Roth is being lined up to host the breakfast show on those New York and LA stations that currently take Stern's show. Writing on his online mag this week, Hayden says: "Infinity Broadcasting isn't commenting, and Roth has been asked to keep mum until it's officially announced. But an inside source at Infinity has confirmed the signing". As previously reported, Stern is moving to satellite radio network Sirius where radio regulations are much less tight. The shock jock has been annoying bosses at Infinity, who produce his current radio show, and at the stations that syndicate it, by constantly plugging his forthcoming satellite radio show. They will be looking for a high profile signing to fill Stern's shoes.
