DJ arrested for selling bootleg mix albums

A British-born DJ has been arrested in Spain and charged with copyright infringement for selling unlicensed mix albums to bars and clubs in Mallorca.

A British born DJ has been arrested in Spain for selling unlicensed mix albums. He will now be shot. No, that's not right, not shot, charged with copyright infringement. He is accused of selling "large numbers" of illegal CDs to some 200 bars and clubs on the Spanish island of Mallorca.

Len Hynds, Head Of Enforcement at the International Federation Of The Phonographic Industry welcomed the arrest, which followed joint action by Spanish and British police, and Interpol (the police organisation, not the band, obviously). He said this: "This illicit enterprise aimed to corner the market on the holiday island, taking several thousand euros per month which by rights should have gone to the independent record label that actually produced the albums".
